Recipe Share

I'm cooking new meals again and just had to share what we had for dinner last night which was Sticky 5-spice Gammon. It was so nice and i will be doing it lots as it was so easy and the OH enjoyed it to.

Sticky 5-Spice Gammon

Serves 4
1 Syn per serving

2 tsp chinese 5-spice powder
4 x 175g gammon steaks, trimmed of all visible fat and cut into bite-size pieces
fry-light
2 red chillies, deseeded and finely diced
finely grated zest and juice of 1 orange
1 level tbsp clear honey
100ml chicken stock
2 tbsp dark soy sauce (i used light)
pak choi, to serve
egg noodles to serve

Chop the pak choi

Sprinkle the 5-spice powder over the gammon steaks. Spray a large, wide, non-stick frying pan with the fry light and cook the gammon over a high heat for 2-3 minutes or until the edges are tinged brown.

Add the red chillies, orange zest and juice, honey, stock and soy sauce and simmer rapidly for 4-5 minutes or until the sauce becomes sticky and the gammon is glazed and golden with almost burnt edges.

Meanwhile steam the pak choi and cook the noodles as per pack instructions

Serve immediately with the steamed pak choi and cooked egg noodles and any pan juices poured over

This is well worth trying as i know you'll love it as much as we did

Take care and happy slimming
